Morgan McGowan

Morgan began her dance career at the early age of 3. She began ballet technique at Ms. Xandria's Dance Studio. At the age of 5 she broadened her technique on the Roosevelt Elementary Drill Team and also the Dancing Diva's Drill Team. Due to her strong passion for dance, Morgan continued to train in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, lyrical, and tap. Moving forward, she was exposed to Debbie Allen Summer Intensives as well as Alvin Ailey. She was a member of Kids In Dance and the Pershing Dance Co. and in recent years trained at the Movement Lab under the direction of Kevin Ferguson. Beginning her 8th grade year through her junior year of high school she worked at Taylor's School of Dance as assistant dance director working with many children and parents to create a productive learning environment. She was a 4-year Blue Diamond member under the direction of Tanya Jones. In her junior year she was apart of "Baby Hold On to Me" a show honoring Gerald Levert's life. She then served as captain for the 2016-2017 school year and graduated from Westbury Senior High School. During her senior year she was awarded a scholarship for placing 1st in solo division at Go Hard or Go Home competition. In the summer of 2017 she participated in Dancin' in the Streets at Hermann Park. Morgan now attends Texas Southern University and is a psychology major. During her freshman year she had the privilege of becoming a member of the Motion of the Ocean dance line. She has decided to further her dance career and education and to also share the knowledge she's learned over the years.
